From the bulletin of Elise's service:
Elise led a very full life. A terrific wife and a mother to three wonderful children
(and our children’s friends), she was also a public school teacher, tax professional,
and a volunteer for many organizations.
Elise had been very active at the Wantagh Memorial Congregational Church in
New York as a member of various boards, head of the Nursery School Committee,
advisor to the PF, church treasurer, Sunday school teacher and children’s worship
leader, choir member, and president of the Women's Fellowship. She was a
volunteer driver for disabled people and a founder of the Nassau County (NY)
affiliate of Habitat for Humanity.
At Norcross Presbyterian she was on session for finance, restructuring the
preschool, served in Presbyterian Women, and sang alto (sometimes soprano) in
our choir. You can hear her voice in one of the videos.
Elise had a great sense of humor which you can also see in the photos and
videos. She had a remarkable sense of adventure. She enrolled the two of us in
all available swimming and SCUBA classes. We were diving buddies. We traveled
to see many of the great sights of this wonderful country.
Today we celebrate Elise’s life, one full enough for three people – and we miss
her. In lieu of flowers, if you wish to make an offering in her memory, please make
out a check to Norcross Presbyterian Church and mark it "Tuition fund for Osim
children". Or, if you wish, please make a donation to the National Multiple
Sclerosis Society, Habitat for Humanity, to any other charity of your choice, or to
the church's general memorial fund.
