During her visit to Ireland in the winter of 2000-2001, Nancy visited the ancient home of Sir Anthony Colclough, a remote ancestor. Elizabeth I gave Tintern Abbey to Sir Anthony in grateful payment for his long years of service to the crown. A Colclough family member lived at the site through the mid 20th Century.
